You all know Patti Rothberg from her illustrious career in rock. But there's another side to Patti; she's a painter as well. Over the last couple of years, Patti has been assembling a new collection of acrylic portraits entitled "Kitsch Encounters."

June 17, 2007: Patti made it onto Page Six!

Here's some info on the show:

If all the world is a stage, then Hell's Kitchen's metaphorical actors are as underpaid as the real actors who struggle to live here! Who are the personalities in your neighborhood? They are famous in our everyday lives. Some came from faraway lands to live the American dream and work really hard just to keep on keeping on. The parking attendants; the sock vendor on the corner; the wild and crazy thrift shop owner whom everyone stops to chat with! These portraits embody an epoch made up of moments in time, the commonality of which has been the people around me. I am one light on a string of christmas lights. So often we "blink along together" not giving it a moment's thought. Buildings are being razed in the neighborhood to make room for bigger money. The mom and pop stores struggle on the fringes; they're the ones who flavor the community and give the artists incentive to live here in the first place. Some stores have already closed since I first began painting my subjects. I want my portraits to forever capture the snapshot moments when my neighbors were superstars in my eyes (not to mention the sunspots from the flash of my camera...). I want everyone in the show to be in the room with their portrait and me, the filter....like points in time intersecting...stars crossing and ships passing in the night. Christmas lights blinking together in harmony.

Hi! I'm writing to let you know about my recent artworks and where to find/buy them!
The J. Seffens Gallery is a lovely neighborhood store selling the paintings, handcrafted jewelry and the like of local artists, most recently, myself.
It is located on 405 West 44th St in NYC (just west of 8th Ave. between 8 & 9th).
It is the loveliest little gallery and well worth the trip.
I am showing the following items:
1. "Shearinkz" which are earrings (and necklaces) made of shrinky dinks
2. "Tiny T&A's" - miniature Vargas inspired paintings of burlesque girls
3. "magnet tudes" - handmade magnets of my miniature paintings and slogans

Please come check them out and take one home while they last! (It's the pastel blue painted storefront with the colored flags hanging from the door.)

I have been working on a new online portfolio, and FINALLY, it is finished! This link opens to the thumbnail page and all the thumbnails work when you click on em: www.portfolios.com
